I can’t believe my baby big boy has lost his first tooth! And, look at how tiny it is.

The tooth fairy left him a dollar, under his pillow. When he saw it, this morning, he had the nerve to say, “only one dollar?” Yeah, not sure what his expectations were, but we had a little chat, about being grateful for EVERYTHING we receive. Sigh… kids. Everything is a teachable moment!

I hope all you moms had an excellent Mother’s Day!

Last week, I did sort of an unofficial survey, on both Twitter and Facebook. I asked moms to tell me what the perfect Mother’s Day is, for them.  Here are the results…

“Someone cleaning the house, doing my laundry and taking care of the meals!”

“I’d like to be pampered. Maybe a little breakfast in bed with a card n a pretty floral bouquet. Then some spa treatment… a deep tissue massage then a mani/pedi. Then off to do something fun with my child, perhaps a movie or maybe the amusement park. I’d like to see my son enjoy himself. There’s no greater feeling than seeing my son happy. Then I’d wrap up the day with a nice dinner surrounded by all the people I love, preferably my mom, my grandma, my auntie, my cousin, my sister-in-law. We could make it an “All Ladies” dinner.”

“Well since this will officially be the first, a card and extra sleep would be nice, and probably get out and enjoy the sun.”

“Sitting pool side in Jamaica with my husband, sipping unlimited Strawberry Daiquiris, and watching the kids play. Simply heaven.”

“Breakfast with my guys, a day of pampering and lunch with my mom, a romantic dinner with the hubby, and a relaxing evening to do absolutely nothing. I’m excited just thinking about it! LOL!”

“A day at the spa, a romantic dinner at Luciano’s, a night’s stay at the Atheneum with a jacuzzi, a bouquet of pink roses and a showering of words from my hubby describing all of the things he find special about me. Is that asking too much?”

“Waking up to breakfast in bed and a dozen roses. My kids normally sing and give me cards and stuff. Then relaxing to a good morning movie or a good book for a while. A bath prepared by the hubby, then the kids normally plan a little surprise “party” when I come downstairs (to which I usually end up crying-they are really sweet). An afternoon at the spa and a little shopping. Then coming home to a spotless house, steak, starbucks and cuddle time with the hubby. *did I get carried away?* lol”

“Being left alone.”

“Anything that involves being with my family instead of me being stuck working! Just knowing they love me and we’re together is the best gift of all!”

“Lots of hugs (more than 1) from my 23, 20, and 10 year old. Car detailed (no lent), and a great dessert (that I didn’t cook).”

“Sleeping in…and an outdoor adventure with the kids.”

“Perfect Mother’s Day? Brunch followed by shopping ALONE (most likely at Target) for as long as I want!”

“Time with my family (or children)…Being spoiled, pampered and feet up.”

“Someone else taking care of me at a spa.”

So, there you have it. For the most part, us mothers want to spend a bit of time, with our families and then be pampered, on Mother’s Day. Also, we want to have someone else do our jobs, around the house. And, then left alone, to enjoy the rest of the day, in peace.
