Michigan Mondays: FACE Skincare ~ Medical ~ Wellness

Hi guys, I’m back! I thought I’d kick off my return, with something new.

For those of you, who don’t know, I’m a life-long Michigander. And, while The Mom with Moxie, isn’t a “local blog,” I still like to give my hometown, a shout out, every now and then. Thus, my new feature, here at The Mom with MoxieMichigan Mondays – where I introduce my readers to something, purely Michigan related. Be it a person, company, event, etc.

For my inaugural Michigan Mondays post, I thought I’d tell you about this awesome medi-spa, a friend of mine told me about…FACE Skincare ~ Medical ~ Wellness.

After suffering from cystic acne as a teen, spa owner, Holly Casaroll has rebuilt her own skin, and dedicated the last 15 years to successfully providing innovative solutions to skin conditions.

As someone who suffers from dry skin and discoloration, caused by eczema, I’m often wary of getting anything done, to my face, but the company’s Wellness division, headed by Doug Cutler ND, allows clients to balance their health and beauty from within.

Holly has been featured on FOX, and her Celebrity treatments have been featured on E News, The Doctors, and Oprah, as well as her proprietary combinations have made her a force to be reckoned with in the field of beauty.

FACE Skincare ~ Medical ~ Wellness is located in Southfield, Michigan. Visit their site, today, to make an appointment!

A few months ago, I came across the YouTube page of Dulce Candy – a woman who uses social media to teach her followers all her beauty and fashion secrets. The particular video I stumbled across was a make-up tutorial, showing how to apply eye shadow (something that I kind of suck at). The make-up she used was a brand called BH Cosmetics.

Ever since I saw that video, I’d been drooling and obsessing over BH’s products. So, as you can imagine, I was stoked, when I was presented with the opportunity to review their 88 Tropical Shimmer Palette.

The year-round, summer-toned colors are just what the beauty doctor ordered, to warm up the chilly fall & winter days ahead. All the colors are gorgeous. From the breezy blues to sea glass greens… peony pinks to lilting lilacs… sand dune taupes to ocean-splashed grays – all the colors are so, so beautiful!

I really love the purples. So, of course that’s the color I tried out. Here are a few snaps of how it turned out:

(Please excuse the eyebrows.)

25 Ways to Wear a Scarf [Video]

Being from Michigan, I’m no stranger to cold weather. Too often, my fashion takes a hit, in the late fall/winter months. Everything gets kind of drab, and boring. A cool (and cheap) way to remedy this, is the addition of scarves, to my outfits. I already have a few, but I haven’t been able to find some creative ways to wear/tie them. So, as you can imagine, I was excited to find this video, over on Money Saving Mom. Because I thought it was cool, I decided to share it with you all. Happy viewing!

Got Cranky Kids?

Well, why not?

I want to introduce you, to a Detroit-based clothing line, for kids, called Cranky Kids Clothing. It was actually founded, by an old classmate of my sister’s.

Cranky Kids Clothing is a children’s clothing brand, as well as an online boutique. Everything, at Cranky Kids, is made by hand, by the designer. Their simple and original designs are clean and “free of commercial cartoon characters and corny sayings.”

The line consists of sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies and cardigans. They range in size 2T – 5/6.  Prices start at $25, and for hand-sewn shirts, that’s not bad!

Check out their online store and look book, for their awesome designs.

And, don’t forget to “Like” their Facebook page!

Oh, and check out her husband’s company, Burn Rubber Sneaker Boutique, located in Royal Oak, Mich.
